Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Aims to be a Laptop Killer

Microsoft is doing its best to catch up with Apple and Google in the mobile computing space.  Try as it might to create the best mobile device, what keeps it from being successful in this sphere is the popularity of Apple’s and Google’s mobile operating systems.  Users are already invested in Android and iOS so it would be hard for them to switch to Windows 8, even if the hardware it comes with happens to be the best there is.

Microsoft recently launched the Surface Pro 3, and from all indications, it is the best tablet from Microsoft so far, and as a tru laptop replacement, the Surface Pro 3 comes closest to being perfect.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features a 12-inch 2,160 x 1440 display and comes in at only 9.1mm (0.36 inch) thick and weighs only 800g (1.76 pounds).  When you consider these things, it’s hard to imagine that something as thin as the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 runs a full version of Windows 8.1.  Performance is also expected to be zippy with the use of an Intel Core i7 processor.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is clearly positioned to be a laptop killer, and this is possible with the inclusion of a more flexible kickstand on the back of the device and the launch of new Type Cover keyboard with improved features and an improved touchpad.  The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 also comes with an N-trig digitizer pen.

The Surface Pro 3 is priced at $799 for the basic configuration that comes with a Core i3 processor.  Storage range from 64GB to 512GB so there should be one Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that’s perfect for every user.
