Lenovo just outed the next important device for Windows fans. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 is a tablet that has an 8.3-inch display and runs Windows 8.1. For those of you still interested in the Windows system, this device is surely interesting since it has the features a Windows 8.1 tablet should have.
For one, the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 has a more than good 1920 x 1080 resolution and packs a fast 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 also offers a micro HDMI port and a micro USB 3.0 port. Taking a page out of Apple, Lenovo has equipped the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 with a cover called Quickshot Cover which attaches magnetically at the side of the tablet and of course also protects its screen. Like the Smart Cover from Apple, Quickshot also wakes the ThinkPad 8 up when you flip it open. But Lenovo even went further. There’s a part in the Quickshot that can be folded to expose the 8-megapixel rear camera. Opening this part also launches the built-in camera app, so in a way, it’s better than the Smart Cover from Apple.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 looks great and has slim side bezels just like the iPad mini. It has an aluminum build so it should prove to be sturdy. It is light as well, weighing only 0.92 pounds and coming in at only 8.8mm thick. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 has options for 3G / LTE support and 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage.
Windows finally has an answer to the iPad mini 2, although as to which one is actually better, it’s still up in the air.
