Facebook Introduces “Nearby Friends” Feature, to be Available on iOS and Android

Facebook recently introduced a new feature that will further help users connect.  The new feature is called “Nearby Friends” and as the name implies, the new features lets users know which friends are nearby.  This is a helpful tool in informing users which friends are nearby, thereby making it easier to arrange meetups.

Nearby Friends is just an optional feature, so you don’t have to be too concerned that your Facebook friends will track your location even if you don’t want them to.  Nearby Friends will only work if you turn it on and will only work with specific friends you choose.

Your chosen friends also need to turn on the feature and opt to share their whereabouts with you.

If Nearby Friends is enabled, users will be notified which friends are nearby.  Nearby Friends will be available on iOS and Android.
