Sony Xperia Z2 Compact Passes FCC

Many phone users were amazed at Sony’s Xperia Z1 Compact as it defied the trend. Phone makers release mini versions of flagships, only to disappoint consumers with their watered-down specs.  The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact was different as it featured practically the same specs as the then Xperia Z1 flagship.  The good news is, Sony is working on a mini version of the current Xperia Z2 flagship.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Compact has already passed the FCC under the code Altair with model number SO-04F.  As observed by some sources, the FCC schematic shows a phone with similar front-camera placement as the Xperia Z1 Compact.  Furthermore, the model number in the schematic refers to “Amami”, which is the codename for the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Some rumored parts of the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact have also leaked online and they are shown below.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Compact is rumored to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AB CPU, 3GB RAM, 20.7 MP Exmor RS camera and IP55/IP58 certification.  The phone size could be bigger than the 4.3-inch Xperia Z1 Compact.
