In a previous post, we featured a follow up to the popular Redmi (Red Rice) Android phone from Xiaomi. Now the rumor has been confirmed when Xiaomi teased the upcoming phone, now called Redmi Note. The “Note” in the phone’s name could mean a stylus, or it could simply be an indication of the phone’s phablet-sized screen. The Redmi Note will indeed carry a 5.5-inch screen and a 1.4GHz or 1.7GHz octa-core processor.
Xiaomi will make the Redmi Note available first in China on March 19. There is no word yet on the availability of the Redmi Note outside China. Pricing details on the Redmi Note have not been revealed yet.
Xiaomi has expanded internationally so the Redmi Note could find its way to countries like Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. Sadly, Xiaomi has not officially entered the Philippine market yet but if you scour online stores or the gray market, you should find one.
