OPPO is about to launch the F5, its new flagship handset which has the makings of another hit for the rising international phone maker. OPPO has been recognized as one of the top phone brands in the Philippines and its upcoming offering will certainly strengthen its position in the market.
The OPPO F5 is scheduled to be launched in the Philippines at an event to be held on October 26, 2017. The complete specs and details of the phone will be revealed by then but OPPO already shared some of the key features of the OPPO F5.
Full-Screen Edge-to-Edge Display
The OPPO F5 will be the first full-screen display for the company. From teasers and initial photos, the OPPO F5 appears to have an edge-to-edge display which is the current trend for flagship phones like the Galaxy Note 8, the iPhone X or the LG V30. The screen appears to reach the edges on either side while the top and at the bottom of the screen show thin bezels. The top bezel hosts the front-facing camera, the earpiece and a sensor. If there’s any comparison to be made, screen-wise, the OPPO F5 is nearer the appearance of the LG V30 that to the other flagships.
The screen of the OPPO F5 will be an FHD+ display with 2160 x 1080 resolution that promises a more vivid and immersive experience. This should be great with gaming and other mobile applications. The OPPO F5 will even offer a Split Screen mode which is a feature that enables two apps to run together side by side on the same screen.
AI Beauty Recognition Technology
OPPO likewise shared that the F5 will come with a beauty feature called AI Beauty Recognition. Having been known as a selfie expert, this new feature is a testament to the company’s effort to continue the same marketing strategy and to tap the same market of young mobile users who are mostly into social media.
According to OPPO, the AI Beauty Recognition technology is something groundbreaking. As described, the feature uses artificial intelligence to recognize the subject’s skin tone and type, the gender and age and analyze the environment’s lighting conditions. It will reference other facial images from a global photo database, all for the purpose of producing the perfect shot. The AI feature will scan more than 200 facial recognition spots and learn the unique facial features of a subject. By doing this, the phone is able to make the ideal enhancements for each image. The AI will self-learn and enhance each shot and as the user takes more and more selfies, the shots will only get better and better. The AI Beauty Recognition feature further detects male from female subjects and infants from adults. This enables it to use the right enhancements.
OPPO’s latest model will also be launched in other South East Asian markets such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and including India.
