Motorola recently launched two mid-range Android phones, the Moto G5S Plus and the lighter Moto G5S. Since the launch of the Moto G years ago, I’ve been intrigued by how this line has been popular with consumers. The first launch of the Moto G was made during a time when Google was still behind Motorola. Now it is owned by Lenovo but the strategy appears to be the same.
What do the Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5s have to offer?
Moto G5S Plus
The Moto G5S Plus is a mid-range phone, alright, as confirmed by its PHP 14,999 price tag in the Philippines. Its specs, however, are impressive enough for the price. The selling feature of this phone is the all-metal unibody design, which Motorola claims is precision-crafted from a single piece of high-grade aluminum, and its dual-camera setup which is becoming a standard feature of new phones these days and is becoming a necessity somehow.
The Moto G5S Plus ticks all the important specs for a modern phone and this should be enough to most users. A quick rundown of specs includes a 5.5-inch 1080p display, dual 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, expandable 32GB storage, 3000 mAh battery, LTE, NFC and dual-SIM tray.

Motorola’s other new phone is a smaller version called the Moto G5S. This one is a cheaper version priced at PHP 10,999 in the Philippines. The Moto G5S has a smaller 5.2-inch 1080p display and understandably lower specs like 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, single 16MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera. It still has 3000 mAh battery and also has LTE and NFC connectivity. For the price, this is still a good option if you’re looking for an affordable Android phone.
