Huawei Mate 8. Philippine-bound for sure.
Huawei has a new 6-inch phablet. As an update to the Mate 7, Chinese tech brand Huawei recently took the wraps off its new Mate 8 phone that packs a 6-inch 1080p display, which is reportedly better since it covers 95 percent of NTSC gamut. The Huawei Mate 8 has a premium design that is definitely a plus for discerning buyers. The fact that Huawei can come up with a beautifully designed phone comes as no surprise considering how good-looking the Google-backed Nexus 6P is.
The most distinct features of the Mate 8 are the fingerprint scanner, 16-megapixel rear camera, 4GB of RAM and an octa-core Kirin 950 chipset, which is said to pack more power yet is able to stay efficient at the same time. The rest of the specs of the Huawei Mate 8 include 32GB or 128GB storage, microSD expansion), 4,000 mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It will be available in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray and Mocha Brown colors.
The Huawei Mate 8 is not cheap but the specs seem to justify its announced price. The Mate 8 is priced at about $500 for the variant with 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage and about $690 for the variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone will initially be available in China and will launch globally in January, hopefully including the Philippines.
