After too many rumors and leaked parts, Apple finally unveiled the iPhone 5s. This is the latest and the best iPhone by far in terms of hardware specs and features. Apple apparently believes that if nothing is broke, nothing should be fixed. This has been obvious in how Apple has designed the iPhone 5s, which in most respect, is similar to the iPhone 5. It even has the same 4-inch panel with a 1136 x 640 pixel resolution display.
The main features that are new to the iPhone 5s are the fingerprint scanner called the Touch ID, an A7 processor with world’s first 64-bit chip paired with an M7 co-processor and a camera with a larger f2.2 aperture, a 15 percent larger sensor area and two LED flash.
The iPhone 5S will come with iOS 7 pre-installed and Apple claims that the new OS has been re-engineered to take full advantage of the phone’s new 64-bit processor.
The iPhone 5S is available in silver, space gray, and gold. On contract with a US carrier, the iPhone 5s is priced at $200 for the 16GB, $300 for the 32GB, and $400 for the 64GB model.
The iPhone 5s will be available first in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico, and China. The rest of the world, including the Philippines, will have to wait a bit to get the iPhone 5s.
