Maine Mendoza’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook Accounts Hacked

Anonymous Philippines, a local hacker group, has apparently hacked the Twitter account of Maine Mendoza, popularly known by Eat Bulaga followers as Yaya Dub.  She is the other half of Aldub, the other half being Alden Richards.  While the couple’s popularity recently exploded when they repeatedly broke Twitter records for the most number of tweets, Maine Mendoza is now getting attention for getting hacked by Anonymous Philippines.

Anonymous Philippines tweeted messages after hacking Maine Mendoza’s account.  One of the messages reads:

Sorry po if napadaan kami sa account ni yayadub, ibabalik din namin to sa tunay na may-ari… Nagmamahal, Anonymous Philippines

There were other tweets promoting an anti-corruption protest dubbed the Million Mask March.  The group however denied that they are the ones responsible for the hacked Instagram and Facebook accounts of Maine Mendoza.  The group posted on its Facebook page that they do not control these other accounts.

Fans of Maine Mendoza were quick to condemn the hacking.  Currently, tweets in support of Maine Mendoza use the hashtag #WeGotYourBackMeng which is now the top trending topic on Twitter.

The hacked Twitter account has been restored and Maine Mendoza was quick to inform her fans about it.

It appears, however, that her Instagram account is still inaccessible.

Anonymous Philippines is known for doing cyber attacks in the past, some of which had to do with its stance against the Cybercrime Prevention Act.  The most recent attack by the group is against the the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) where it blasted the unreliable service and alleged deceptive practices of internet service providers.
