Lenovo is on a roll at CES 2014. Among the new devices unveiled at the event are new Miix 2 detachable laptops or tablet and dock combo. Lenovo previously released the Miix 2, a cheap Windows tablet, so don’t confuse the new laptops with the original Miix 2.
The Lenovo Miix 2 10 has a 10.1-inch display while the Lenovo Miix 2 11 has an 11.6-inch display. Being detachable laptops, these Windows 8.1 devices come with a tablet and keyboard dock. The design is quite attractive, a trend that is common with Lenovo products nowadays.
Both Miix 2 10 and Miix 2 11 packs a 1,920 x 1,080 IPS display and also offers dual 5MP/2MP cameras, a microSD slot, micro-HDMI, JBL speakers and a USB port on the dock. These devices promise up to 8 hours of battery life and also have optional 3G if you want it. The Miix 2 10 and Miix 2 11 differ in processing power as the Miix 2 10 packs an Intel Bay Trail processor while the Miix 2 11 uses a Core i5 chip.
The Miix 2 10 has a maximum of 128GB of storage while the Miix 2 11 goes up to 256GB. The Miix 2 10 is priced at $499 while the Miix 2 11 is priced at $699. Availability in the Philippines is unknown at this point.
