Beats, the audio company that practically pioneered stylish headphones has a new wireless headphones offering called the Studio3 Wireless. This is an update to the Studio lineup and a perfect choice for those looking for wireless headphones to pair with the iPhone. The Beats Studio3 Wireless retails for US$350 which is relatively affordable for a Beats product. As you probably know, beats is known for expensive headphones.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless offers improved noise cancellation with Pure Adaptive Noise Cancellation or Pure ANC. At the risk of sounding technical, Pure Adaptive Noise Cancellation uses “advanced algorithms” to monitor the user’s surroundings. It then adjusts accordingly in order to block out unwanted noise. Pure ANC takes note of the fit of the headphones and adapts to sound leaks, no matter how tiny, like sound leaks due to hair, glasses, ear shapes and movements. This feature likewise compares the sound with noise cancellation with the original music to produce the most ideal sound. We don’t know if this technology will actually translate to great sound in actual use but hopefully it does.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless also packs Apple’s W1 wireless chip which is responsible for its long battery life. This chip enables quick Bluetooth pairing and offers a more efficient wireless connection. According to Beats, the Studio3 Wireless is capable of performing up to 22 hours even with both wireless and noise cancellation turned on.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless is nothing special when it comes to looks. It retains the familiar Beats design, which is actually not bad but is frankly a tired design. The Studio3 Wireless has a built-in microphone for calls and on-board controls for skipping songs, adjusting volume and activating Siri.
