Pinoy Teenager Kills Grandma for Interrupting DOTA Game

DOTA or Defense of the Ancients is an addictive online game.  This is a fact shown by the number of DOTA gamers in the Philippines.  It is also violent just like other battle games played online.  When a DOTA gamer is interrupted, it could result to a violent, and as proven by the recent incident, fatal rage.


When a 17-year old Filipino teenager who was playing DOTA in a computer shop was fetched by her 68-year old grandmother, it resulted in the teenager killing her grandmother.  This incident was reported by ABS-CBN and according to the report, the 17-year-old boy could not remember what actually happened.  The grandmother had wounds in the head, neck and chest.

There are groups that highlight the violent effects of video and online games and this incident could only prove that at times, they indeed are dangerous.  Of course others could argue that other factors could have caused the teenager to maul her grandmother to death.
