Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Released

the-last-jediIf you’re a Star Wars fan, you should be excited for the next installment of the franchise. The new movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi, slated to be released in December 15, is the eight installment in the main Star Wars saga.  The last Star Wars related movie was Rogue One but it was not part of the main story. The story for the new main movie is set just after the last main Star Wars movie The Force Awakens.  A new trailer was just released by Lucasfilms and so far, everything looks good.

I have seen all Star Wars films and I’m excited for the upcoming movie. The Force Awakens was good enough but I felt like it could have been better. The Last Jedi, hopefully, is better and from the new trailer, it looks like it will be a better movie. The new film is directed by Rian Johnson, the same director who was behind Looper, a film starred in by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I liked Looper and I like Rian Johnson’s style but Star Wars is still a huge task and any good director could still fail to impress hardcore fans. I hope he lives up to the huge expectations.

Going back to the trailer, there’s only a few details revealed so far, which is good for those who do not want anything about the movie spoiled for them. You would remember that at the end of The Force Awakens, Daisy Ridley’s character Rey found Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker, expecting him to be the savior. In the trailer, Luke Skywalker is shown, including other main characters from the previous movie and a shot of Princess Leia played by Carrie Fisher. Scenes shown include Rey’s training on Ahch-To with Luke Skywalker, who tells her that he’s only seen power like hers once before, and one where she was tortured by Supreme Leader Snoke. There’s also Kylo Ren who is piloting a fighter aimed at Leia’s Resistance ship. The trailer also shows Poe and Finn in a few fight scenes. Overall, the trailer successfully hypes up the movie.

Apart from releasing the trailer, Lucasfilm also unveiled the theatrical poster for The Last Jedi. The poster is shown here.
