Spotify Lands in the Philippines Through Globe Telecom

Music streaming service Spotify is finally in the Philippines.  I have been interested in trying Spotify but it had long been unavailable in our country.  Finally, the service is now in the Philippines but it has an exclusive partner in Globe Telecom.

Spotify is available in every important platform there is.  It is therefore available for download on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Spotify has made available to Filipino users a database of 20 million songs so every song you know is definitely on Spotify. The service will also offer songs from Pinoy artists so that’s a plus.  The songs sometimes have quality of up to 320kbps, which means quality is not compromised.

Spotify is finally in the Philippines

If you want to use Spotify, you can use it for free on your mobile device but that comes with ads and you have to be online to be able to listen to songs.  You can also access Spotify in the Philippines through its web player on spotify.com/ph.

If you want the ad-free version with option for offline listening, you need to subscribe for the premium services which will set you back Php129 per month.

For Globe subscribers, you can access Spotify through Globe’s GoSURF data plan. If you’re on prepaid, you can register through GoSURF10.  For Php10, prepaid subscribers get 10MB of data and 24-hour access to Spotify.  Postpaid subscribers also have the option of getting GoSURF 299 for 700MB of data and one month of Spotify Premium access.  If you have more budget, you can get GoSURF999 for Spotify Premium access and 5GB of data.
