Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant recently announced the Mi Band Pulse. The device is a fitness tracker that is an update to the very popular Mi Band, with the main update being the addition of a real-time heart monitoring feature. Hence, the word Pulse in the name.
In terms of features, the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is better than the original Mi Band. The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse basically tracks distance and calories burned, including your sleep patterns. It uses a photoelectric light perception module to track heart rate. In addition to these features, however, the Mi Band Pulse can also unlock your phone. The quoted battery life of this device is 30 days, which is quite impressive. The Mi Band Pulse is a tad heavier compared to the original version at 13.5g.
The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse. Philippine-bound?
For the cheap price tag, the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is a far cheaper alternative to more expensive dedicated fitness trackers like the ones from Fitbit, Jawbone and Samsung.
The original Xiaomi Mi Band was one of the most popular fitness trackers in the world, thanks to its very affordable price of $13. Xiaomi expects the same interest in the Mi Band Pulse since it is still very affordable at its price tag of $16 even with the addition of the heart-rate sensor.
The Xioami Mi Band Pulse will launch on November 11 in China and could be available in the Philippines, although details on worldwide availability has not been officially announced yet. If ever it arrives in the Philippines, a price tag of about Php1,000 could make it an attractive purchase.
